Fray Sahagun was a friar who arrived in Mexico two years after the Aztec capital had been destroyed.
Spain had attempted to destroy the entire written history of the Aztecs and those who came before them. Sahagun defied this ban to try to reconstruct the history, thus titling his book “The Forbidden Histories”.
He described a group of Africans who came over in ships more than 3,000 years ago, called the Olmecs. They landed on the Eastern shore, not the Western. Curiously, they “carried books written with red and black hieroglyphs – inventions uniquely identified with ancient Egypt.
